blogging contest

When I started blogging, my understanding of commenting on other blogs was constrained to the idea of simply leaving a remark and just having your say. Little did I know how shallow and unfounded that belief was. As  I progressed and learned more, I began to gain a deeper understanding on the true meaning and essence of leaving comments on other blogs.

get on with it

You’ve been blogging for quite some time now and have read numerous articles about successful bloggers. Testimonials of those people who made a name in the blogging world and are now sharing not just their success stories, but how they attained it as well. Very nice, isn’t it? You now have references and guides on how to become like them, and is now fully motivated to do some serious blogging yourself. You make an article, sharing what you’ve learned and making subtle (and not so subtle) hints of your blogging plan. Then you do some serious marketing stuff of that article simply because they said in their guides that you should do so.

This is all good, you know. Guidance from the Gurus, inspiration from their success stories, and marketing your articles like crazy, are some traits that even an average blogger possesses nowadays. Like I said, if you’ve been blogging for some time now, you must have encountered tons of articles about blogging, success, failure, making money, and not making any at all. These are the common phrases and words a blogger encounters, especially if you’re niche is in blogging, tech, and internet marketing… which of course, more often than not, it is.

Ode To Passion

12th August 2010

passion

Two souls lain beneath the stars
softly whispering to each other’s ears
Pledges of love which utterly sears
mammoth waves of pain and fear

Two hearts bound in unity
living in joy, apart from reality
Caught between passion’s fraility
running through their entity

private corner redesign

If you’ve been here before, you might notice some changes. Yup, you got that right. I made another redesign for Private Corner. Well, I get easily bored visually and thought that the former set up of the blog is somewhat cluttered. I thought it needed more appeal and substance… needed character. So I hit the Maintenance Mode button and started redesigning the blog.

You might be asking if I hired someone to do the redesigning for me. The answer is no, and I did the redesign myself. I couldn’t afford to hire one simply because I don’t have money to pay for one. Besides, I am a freelance graphics designer myself, although I’m on the advertising side of the industry. Much of my experience is on Photoshop, doing banners, business cards, desktop publishing, etc. I’m just learning the how to’s of Web Design and most of my knowledge came from self-study and research in the Internet.

guest blogging

I have been meaning to try guest blogging for quite some time now. I’ve been reading tons of articles about it lately and the benefits it could do for your blog. Aside from that, the main reason for this budding interest is the idea of writing for other blogs or sites other than yours. Isn’t it great to have your article show up on other blogs? It means they approve of your work and they find it worth sharing to their readers.

Cutting a long story short, I tried my luck on guest blogging by submitting a guest post on Famous Bloggers. You could imagine my elation having to see it published on their site. It might sound shallow or corny, but having the chance to guest post on Famous Bloggers, or any site for that matter, is still something to be proud of. Like I said, it means that they approve of your work for every blog worth a spit has its own standards for submitting guest posts.
