Stop Raving About the Gurus and Just Get On with It

13th August 2010

You’ve been blogging for quite some time now and have read numerous articles about successful bloggers. Testimonials of those people who made a name in the blogging world and are now sharing not just their success stories, but how they attained it as well. Very nice, isn’t it? You now have references and guides on how to become like them, and is now fully motivated to do some serious blogging yourself. You make an article, sharing what you’ve learned and making subtle (and not so subtle) hints of your blogging plan. Then you do some serious marketing stuff of that article simply because they said in their guides that you should do so.

This is all good, you know. Guidance from the Gurus, inspiration from their success stories, and marketing your articles like crazy, are some traits that even an average blogger possesses nowadays. Like I said, if you’ve been blogging for some time now, you must have encountered tons of articles about blogging, success, failure, making money, and not making any at all. These are the common phrases and words a blogger encounters, especially if you’re niche is in blogging, tech, and internet marketing… which of course, more often than not, it is.

But does it really have to be redundant?

I know that the Internet, blogging included, is one big business district. So more or less, people tend to blog aboutjust do ittrending topics. Things that are hot and served gourmet style on search engines. These past few weeks, I’ve been reading about Guest Blogging like a plague. On every five blogs that I visit, three of them talks about it – different approaches but exactly the same gist. Why? Because it’s hot and trendy, plus the fact that it would really hep you grow your blog’s traffic. I tried Guest Blogging myself and succeeded in my first ever attempt, and proven true the things that it could do to your blog in terms of traffic.

Another thing is making money online. Making Money Online has become some sort of a cyber household name. People that set up blogs for this very reason is ever-increasing. Why? Because of the success stories of people likeDarren RowseYaro StarakJohn ChowTimothy Sykes, to name a few. Because they tell you that you could also do it, just like the way they did. Because you could really make money online although it only takes time. This is also true, and it’s truth depends on your perspective and how you could apply all their teachings to yourself and your blog.

But hey, those people didn’t get successful overnight, and I know that you know that. There’s no easy way to success. It applies to any goal that you set and blogging is no exception. Its takes hard work to succeed and if you fail, it takes even harder work to stand up and try again. You could be stubbing your fingers to the palm and burn every neuron you have just to create that fabled killer article, only to find out that it wasn’t a killer after all… only a nice great article. So what? You’re a blogger by heart and I believe that bloggers are resilient by nature. You enjoyed doing that post, didn’t you? As long as you did, it’s all for the good.

I myself believe that I could hit the jackpot someday and make a name for myself. but then again, maybe that’s all wishful thinking. The thing is it doesn’t really matter and I don’t really care. I enjoy blogging. I enjoy writing articles and spewing my thoughts on my blog just for the hell of it. I admire and respect the gurus, just like I admire and respect you and every fellow blogger out there. No more, no less. Blogging ought to be fun and relaxing. If you’re on the serious side of the fence, blogging should be tainted with action and being proactive with your blog is free and costs nothing.

So what are you staring at? Stop raving about them and simply get on with it.

It really is inspiring to read and learn about success stories regarding blogging, but of course, it is easier said than done. The methods these successful bloggers use will work, but will take time, patience and effort. You’re right, as long as one enjoys what he/she is doing, then things will go well. We all wish that we will be successful in our endeavors in the future. However, it is still up to us if we still want to pursue those goals or not.

I think that getting on with it is a smart way with those who really care about it and stay focused with all effort. But it is stupid for those who think that just getting on with it, maybe they will get some luck. Luck will never come with lazy man :-) Thanks for great article

There is a phrase that said, “You doesn’t had to get it perfect, all you need is get it going.” and I’m sure that’s almost the same as to stop raving about them and get on with it. But sometime raving about them do give out some motivational juice and sometime it just keep us having a goal to be like them.
